Topic: H13, M2 surface preperation

I occasionally have a need to EN plate a small quantity of small pins made of H13, or M2  which are at a hardness of about 60-65 Rc. My sucess has been marginal at best, I suspect that surface preperation has been the problem. Is there a simple way to insure good plating result?

H13 has 5.35% chrome,with .41% carbon & M2 has 4.25% chrome with .82% carbon

Try abrasive blasting with fine glass beads, this will not cause Hydrogen embrillment to the steel.
