Topic: Nickel Plating, troubles pumping it
Dear Coleagues. One of my customers has problems pumping nickel bath, the impeller gets bigger after running and the pump doesn'r run any more. We work with a magnetic couplep pump, and the impeller is made of PVDF and it should be enough, however after a time he must change the impeller because is problem. Wich could be teh reasons for that problem.
275 g/l nickeñ sulphate
75 g/l nickel cloride
50 g/l boric acid
Temperature around 60ºC
1,12 g/l
There are not reasons to get problems, but the impeller gets bigger.
Thanks

Re: Nickel Plating, troubles pumping it
How does the impeller get bigger? Does it swell? Or does it get coated with something?

Re: Nickel Plating, troubles pumping it
Hi, Sirs,
I want to plating the inside of a small tube. The ratio is about 100. The tube diameter is about 1mm. The substrate is aluminum. The coating should protect ammonia hydroxide. Work temperature is less than 150C.
Any comments and suggestion welcome.
