Definitively solved the problem of measuring residual stress in metals NDE.
No more expensive equipment: x-rays. neutron, ultrasound is not reliable, or destructive stain gauge and all equipment or modal analysis that are not absolutely precise and safe. A new discovery has resolved the problem exclusively with the principles of applied mechanics.
The results are that you can check at any point the value of residual stress in the metal with a portable equipment, low cost and easy to use.

I want to open a debate on the issue of residual stress of metallic materials, it is not meant to be a treatise on the subject as is well known to all experienced the phenomenon. I want to review the major technical innovations concerning the usual and known current systems such as X-ray diffraction method, Ultrasonic Method, the system Barkhausen. Magnetic Non-Destructive Method all except the blind-hole drilling strain gage method (Rosetta) There is nothing new in the sunlight.
The number of conferences and meetings and countless other very expensive and among those who argue are always the same great experts, great academics of the subject, but the systems do not change are always the same equipment even more sophisticated but still with the usual drawbacks of practicality and high costs. More information about residual stress tester.
The residual stress in a metal do not depend on it hardness, but from the module of elasticity or Young module and from its chemical composition (density).
The hardness of a metal indicates its ability to absorb energy elastic, plastic or kinetic energy, but through it not possible to determine the value of residual stress. In a metal with the same hardness we will have a different values of this stress. Therefore, the problem will be to measure the values that vary so exactly proportional to the residual stress values in a given metal.
