Topic: NASF Palmetto Branch Meeeting for all Carolina Metal Finishers

Dear Palmetto Branch Members,

Hello from Small Town Friendly, Rutherfordton, NC and yours truly, your Palmetto Branch President and Carolina Classic Golf Chairman. This week’s 10th Annual Carolina Classic Golf Tournament will close this year’s calendar year for the 2008 – 09 NASF Fall/Spring Session. As we all take time off during the summer to continue with our day-to-day professions, but also to take time off for vacations, spending time with our families, attending Sur-Fin, etc.

I want to thank each and everyone of you who have participated within our branch and within the organization this year and hope that you will continue to do so in the same capacity or above any capacity you would have ever have imagined. I want to thank the branch officers for their support and volunteerism, while thanking all the companies and individuals who have donated time or money towards branch activities and events.

This year was anything but lackluster, beginning with the support recognized at the annual Southern Metal Finishing conference in Charleston, the Plant tour @ CompX in Greenville, SC, our annual Christmas Party, and of course the upcoming 10th Annual Carolina Classic!! Please be sure and make your presence
known next month if you are attending Sur-Fin 2009 in Louisville, KY, by supporting our branch and attending membership meetings, etc.

It is that time of year again in which we must nominate, volunteer and elect branch officers for the upcoming season which begins in September 2009. Currently, we have three branch officers which are actively involved on limited but acceptable basis, as a couple have gone onto other jobs or are no longer active within the branch or organization.

All of these individuals, including myself, participate on a voluntary basis, and it is time to shore up our officers for the next session, so bring on the volunteers!! So, please bring yourself to this week’s golf outing, as we will informally and formally make recommendations and nominations for these positions. It is important as member to be present or to communicate your nomination to someone who will be present at the event, as we will not meet again until September. There are some new, fresh faces within our branch, as well as some older ones, all of which are welcome to participate. Please feel
free to email me or contact me on my mobile or office numbers, if you have any questions or would like to send me your recommendations for the 2009-10 year.

And most importantly, of those listed on the branch roster, we have approx. 10 or so individuals that are not currently actively registered within the organization. Please be sure and contact me or the NASF headquarters to update your membership status. I look forward to seeing most of you at the golf event this week and will hope to see you all again after the summer expires and we start back up in September.

Sincerely,

Paul Skelton, President
