Topic: Anodize (Type II Class 2)
Can Rit Dye be used as a black dye for anodized aluminum? This is not for certified work, only for personal material and I have been told that it will work, but also that it will not work. Has anyone ever experimented?

Re: Anodize (Type II Class 2)
Great question - My answer is Try it :o)
Depending on the size of the pigments of Rit Dye it could work.
Color a part, seal it well and then expose it to UV light, or simply put it in the back window of your car.
Sunny regards

I have not tried it but many on the Yahoo forum anodizing 101 have and report that most of the Rit dyes do work.
