Topic: Solution for NSST above 240H with wearable surface
We are now in the situation to get a finish solution to meet 240H NSST for a steel shaft. The tolerance of its diameter is 0.01mm. The finish calls for high hardness and good wearable function. Any idea is welcome.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Solution for NSST above 240H with wearable surface
Sharon; Isn't this a maritime spec. Like provided by 'Deep Blue' marine hardware and by 'Buck Marine Hardware'?
I'm dumb enough to not know what a "a finish solution to meet" really means. Is this just the hardness of the stock or a coating process applied to the stock.
Confused skip. I just reread all of your former posts and am really way in over my head. Hope someone can help out here.
Just guessing..

Thanks for your interested in my post and response.
It is not a spec, we are trying to find an appropriate surface treatment to get high corrosion resistance ability on heat treated steel shaft with thickness as thin as possible.

Sharon,
Sounds like a hard chrome job to me.
