NEBOSH or national examination board of occupational safety and health is  international examination board providing vocational qualifications in health, safety and environmental practice and management. It is an independent examination board based in UK and offers a range of qualifications from introductory level to professional level. nebosh develops the syllabuses for its courses as well as determines the assessment methods such as examinations. Courses with NEBOSH qualifications are popular, there are thousands of interested candidates seeking the qualification from 400 institutes of more than 33 countries around the world. NEBOSH qualifications are recognised by IOSH (Institution of  occupational safety and health). It is also certified by ISO 9001. There are three levels of  NEBOSH qualification award, diploma level and certificate level. Award provides the basic understanding of the subject and it may be used as an introduction to other higher level qualifications of NEBOSH. Certificate level qualifications provide broad knowledge of the subject while diploma level qualifications provide professional knowledge of the subject. Health and safety at work qualification is an award program. Certificates include national certificates in occupational health and safety, construction health and safety, fire safety and risk management as well as environmental management. There are also international certificates in occupational health and safety, construction health and safety as well as international technical certificate in oil and gas operational health and safety. There are also diplomas such as national as well as  international diploma in occupational health and safety. Diploma in environmental management is yet another course.
